A Day in the Life

You arrive at Overton Industries ready to turn detailed blueprints into precision parts. Your morning begins by selecting the right tooling and fixtures, setting up a CNC lathe and a vertical mill, confirming offsets, and running a first-article inspection. Throughout the day, you skillfully alternate between CNC and manual equipment, fine-tuning feeds and speeds, holding tight tolerances, and verifying results with micrometers, calipers, and CMM reports. When a cycle runs longer than expected, you collaborate with engineering to adjust programs and reduce time. You keep machines in peak condition with routine maintenance, document production data, and leave your work area spotless and safe.
