What You’ll Own
- Machine operations: Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathes, mills, and grinders as well as manual machines to meet exact specifications and tolerances.
- Blueprint literacy: Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to guide part production.
- Tooling & setup: Choose tools, fixtures, and materials; adjust setups to optimize performance.
- Quality assurance: Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and CMM equipment; verify compliance with specs and quality standards.
- Preventive care: Conduct routine machine maintenance and escalate mechanical issues promptly.
- Process improvement: Partner with engineering and production to enhance methods, shorten cycle times, and boost efficiency.
- Safety & housekeeping: Follow all safety protocols and maintain an organized, clean work area.
- Documentation: Record quantities, material use, and any deviations from the plan.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in machining/manufacturing preferred.
- Experience: 2–3 years as a machinist in a production setting; CNC programming exposure is a plus.
- Core skills: Confident with CNC and manual equipment; strong print-reading; skilled with precision gauges and quality checks; basic G-code knowledge preferred; detail-oriented problem solver; effective team player who can also work independently.
- Physical requirements: Stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
- Certifications: Forklift certification or related credentials are a bonus.
- Manufacturing floor setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and metalworking fluids.
