Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Retail Sales Associate to join our home improvement store team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of retail experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to assist with store operations, inventory handling, and shipping activities.
Duties
- Engage with customers to understand their renovation needs and recommend suitable products such as lighting, fixtures, and building materials.
- Demonstrate product features through demos and explain technical details clearly, including lighting design and layout options.
- Assist customers with inside sales, upselling high-end products, and negotiating solutions that meet their budgets and project goals.
- Manage stock levels by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and merchandising products effectively to attract customer attention.
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system for cash handling, processing transactions accurately while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Support store marketing efforts by promoting special offers, new product launches, and seasonal promotions.
- Collaborate with team members on store organization, inventory management, and ensuring a clean, safe shopping environment.
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales with a focus on home improvement or related industries such as construction or remodeling.
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for retail math accuracy and pricing strategies.
- Skilled in negotiation, upselling techniques, and account management to maximize sales opportunities.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and merchandising best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills for stocking shelves, managing inventory levels, and maintaining store displays.
