Position Overview: Job Purpose
Oversight Systems is a leading provider of cloud-based artificial intelligence solutions automating and analyzing financial payment transactions to identify fraud, non-compliant purchases, and wasteful spending. Oversight analyzes over $2 trillion in expenditures annually at Fortune 5000 companies and government agencies worldwide.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Senior Data Scientist to join our team. You will collaborate with a strong team of data scientists, product managers, and developers on designing and building AI solutions to expand our analytic platform and spend risk products.
Responsibilities
- Lead development projects, engaging with the project stakeholders, collecting high level requirements, testing different machine learning models and designing and delivering systems with machine learning at their cores
- Design and maintain a Machine Learning pipelines - data ingestion, feature engineering, modeling including ensemble methods, predicting, explaining, deploying, and diagnosing over fitting
- Research and develop analysis, and optimization methods to improve the quality of Oversight’s user facing analytics
- Identify and present opportunities to leverage advanced analytical methods to solve difficult non-routine business problems
- Provide technical direction, mentoring, training, and guidance to team members
Skills
- Applied experience with machine learning on large datasets
- Strong SQL experience in processing and analyzing data
- Strong quantitative analytical experience, including hands-on use of statistics, regression modeling, decision trees, random forest, support vector machine, kernel-based methods, clustering, and similar methods
- Ability to analyze a wide variety of data: structured and unstructured, observational, and experimental, to drive system designs and product implementations
- Knowledge of probability and statistics, including experimental design, predictive modeling, optimization, and causal inference
- Understanding of the different machine learning approaches and techniques and able to research and test new ones
- Experience articulating and translating business questions and using statistical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data
- Demonstrated leadership and self-direction
- Hands-on experience with Linux distributions
- Strong communication skills, data presentation skills, and ability to collaborate with other teams
- Experience in both R&D environment and software product development is a plus
Experience
- Must possess a minimum of 3 years work experience using Python
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with Data Science Emphasis and 5 years of Data Science experience (emphasis in Machine Learning)
