What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Documentation Officer position at Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation?
Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp., headquartered in Singapore, is one of the largest Asian banks. OCBC has over 420 branches and offices in 19 markets globally.
OCBC’s US Corporate Banking team has been selectively building the US corporate client base across industries. This specific role pertains to our middle office function with strong background in project finance and corporate lending.
The key responsibility of this position is ensuring that new loans and post-closing amendments, waivers, modifications and extensions are (a) appropriately approved, (b) any deviations from the bank’s required documentation standards, terms and conditions of approval, and/or bank policy and procedures are identified and property approved, (c) all conditions precedent have been met. (e) that closings are done on time and appropriately documented and (f) the new or modified loans are properly set up in the bank’s core banking and ancillary systems.
Primary tasks are:
1. Verifying and documenting that all required approvals have been sought and obtained.
2. Reviewing the Credit Proposal approving the proposed loan transaction.
3. Reviewing draft and final execution copies of the legal documents.
4. Obtaining and reviewing OCBC Counsel’s review of the legal documents against the bank’s documentation standards and OCBC Counsel’s annotation of the terms and conditions of approval against the legal documents.
5. Creating Covenant Trackers and Subsequent Disbursement Control Sheets
6. Completing various checklists, including the Facility Activation Checklist and the booking memo known as the Limit Activation Memo
7. Setting up the approved lending limits and logging all collateral items and guaranties.
8. Successful transfer of loans post-closing to the Post-Closing Loan Monitoring and Reporting Team.
Qualifications:
Extensive prior experience in the closing of and the review of loan documents for large bilateral and syndicated loans involving project financing and corporate lending.
