Financial Coordinator
Overman Family Dentistry is a trusted, family-focused dental practice in Ames, IA. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential in helping patients understand their treatment costs, navigating insurance, and arranging financial options with clarity and compassion.
About the Role:
The Financial Coordinator is responsible for patient accounts, treatment plan presentations, insurance verification, and financial arrangements. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, ideally a background in dental or medical billing, and a passion for helping patients access the care they need.
Responsibilities:
· Present treatment plans and review financial options with patients
· Verify insurance coverage, submit claims, and follow up on outstanding claims
· Process payments and maintain accurate patient account records
· Preparing patient statements
· Patient communication regarding accounts
· Assist patients in understanding their financial responsibilities
· Work closely with providers and the front office team to ensure accurate billing and smooth operations
· Maintain compliance with HIPAA and office policies
Qualifications:
· Previous dental billing/financial coordination experience
· Strong knowledge of insurance verification, claim submission, and patient billing
· Proficiency with dental practice management software- Eaglesoft, Dentrix or similar
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to explain financial information clearly and professionally
· Ability to track payment plans and trends
· Knowledge using Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
