Overland Park Respiratory & Rehab is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) to join our growing Pulmonary Prevention Program. This is a unique opportunity to work in a proactive respiratory care environment focused on preventing respiratory decline, reducing hospital readmissions, and improving quality of life for residents through evidence-based pulmonary interventions.
Unlike traditional acute care settings, our program emphasizes prevention, early intervention, and ongoing respiratory management to keep residents healthier and functioning at their highest level.
Position Highlights
No overnight shifts required
Flexible scheduling with:
12-hour shifts
10-hour shifts
8-hour shifts
Opportunity to work closely with nursing, rehabilitation, providers, and interdisciplinary teams
Meaningful patient relationships and long-term outcome tracking
Focus on proactive respiratory care rather than reactive crisis management
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and identify residents appropriate for pulmonary program enrollment.
Implement and monitor pulmonary prevention therapies designed to reduce respiratory complications and hospitalizations.
Provide airway clearance therapies including:
Cough Assist
Vest Therapy
Acapella
EZPAP
Percussion and postural drainage
Incentive Spirometry
Manage oxygen therapy, CPAP, BiPAP, tracheostomies, and ventilator-dependent residents as appropriate.
Monitor respiratory status and identify changes of condition early.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize pulmonary treatment plans.
Educate residents, families, and staff on respiratory disease management and prevention strategies.
Document treatments, assessments, clinical outcomes, and therapy effectiveness accurately.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on reducing rehospitalizations and pulmonary infections.

Qualifications
Current Respiratory Therapist license (RRT or CRT)
Current BLS certification
Long-term care, SNF, pulmonary rehabilitation, or ventilator experience preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Passion for preventative care and resident-centered outcomes
Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
Salary Range: $35-$40/hour based on experience.
