Overland Park Respiratory & Rehab Center is a recently acquired and rebranded skilled nursing facility located in the Kansas City metropolitan area. We provide long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and higher-acuity clinical services in a resident-centered environment.

Job Summary:
Overland Park Respiratory & Rehab Center is seeking a motivated Respiratory Therapist to support residents with tracheostomies, ventilators, oxygen therapy, pulmonary conditions, cardiac-related respiratory needs, and other respiratory care needs.

There are Full-Time, Part-Time, & PRN Opportunities available.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver respiratory therapy services in accordance with physician orders, resident care plans, facility policies, professional standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.

• Provide care and monitoring for residents with tracheostomies, ventilators, oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, airway clearance needs, and other respiratory conditions.

• Assess residents’ respiratory status, tolerance of treatment, response to interventions, and changes in condition, and communicate concerns promptly to leadership and appropriate clinical team members.

• Operate, inspect, and monitor respiratory equipment safely and correctly, including ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, suction equipment, humidification systems, nebulizers, pulse oximetry, and related respiratory equipment.

• Maintain strong knowledge of oxygen therapy, respiratory treatments, ventilator support, tracheostomy care, infection prevention, equipment safety, and applicable facility protocols.

• Complete accurate, timely, and compliant documentation for all respiratory therapy services, assessments, treatments, interventions, equipment checks, and resident responses.

• Follow facility infection prevention practices, equipment cleaning procedures, and respiratory equipment storage and maintenance protocols.

• Support resident and family communication regarding respiratory care needs, treatment goals, equipment use, and care plan expectations, as appropriate.

• Help maintain the quality, consistency, safety, and effectiveness of respiratory services throughout the facility.

• Promote a positive, accountable, resident-centered, and team-oriented culture.

Requirements:

• Current Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Kansas.

• Prior experience with tracheostomy care, ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and higher-acuity respiratory residents preferred.

• Strong clinical judgment and ability to recognize and communicate changes in resident condition.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to complete accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility requirements.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with nursing, providers, therapy, residents, families, and other interdisciplinary team members.

Salary Range: $35-$40 hourly, based on experience
