Job Summary And Qualifications
The Speech Language Pathologist(SLP) carries out individualized therapy programs including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals. The Speech Therapist supervises therapy aides and students. The Speech Language Pathologist(SLP) carries out individualized therapy programs including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals. The Speech Therapist supervises therapy aides and students. What you will do in this role:
- You will perform comprehensive patient assessments and establish appropriate treatment goals and programs for patients in Acute care, Inpatient Rehab, and/or Outpatient.
- You will coordinate the treatment program with other clinical/therapeutic services.
- You will develop comprehensive goals for treatment to maximize patient outcomes.
- You will deliver care and modify the care plan in accordance with the patient’s needs.
- You will serve as an educator to patients, families, student’s and colleagues.
- Master’s degree in Speech – Language Pathology
- American Speech & Hearing Association
- Current Kansas State professional license or license eligible
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or be eligible for clinical fellowship.
- One year of work experience or clinical internship is required.
- Prior one year of hospital/health care related experience is preferred.
- Basic computer skills in word processing, internet.
