Job Summary And Qualifications
The Physical Therapist carries out individualized therapy programs including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals. The PT supervises therapy assistants, aides and students. Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340 bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson County’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center. We have an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center. Our hospital is a premier area destination for Women's & Children’s healthcare services. We offer the region’s only Maternal Fetal Health Center to care for critically ill mothers and their babies. Our hospital has an antepartum unit, a labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU. We have four emergency rooms, including a dedicated Pediatric emergency room and two freestanding ERs located in Olathe and Shawnee. Each year our colleagues treat over 45,000 patients. What you will do in this role:
- You will perform comprehensive patient assessments and establish appropriate treatment goals and programs for patients in Acute care, Inpatient Rehab, and/or Outpatient.
- You will coordinate the treatment program with other clinical/therapeutic services.
- You will develop comprehensive goals for treatment to maximize patient outcomes.
- You will deliver care and modify the care plan in accordance with the patient’s needs.
- You will serve as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues.
- Minimum education required is a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy / Master’s degree preferred.
- Current State professional license or license eligible.
- Good interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing required.
- Word processing skills preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Saving (BCLS) – American Heart Assoc.
- New grads accepted.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; Diagnostic skills consistent with professional degree
- Proficient with computer software programs.
- Proficient with patient care related equipment
