Overhead Door Company is looking for an experienced, highly motivated Residential & Commercial Garage Door Service Technician to join our growing service team.
In this dual-focus role, you will diagnose, repair, and service both residential and commercial door systems, openers, and operator hardware. You will also handle full door installations and participate in our scheduled emergency on-call rotation. Key Responsibilities
- Service & Troubleshooting: Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and commercial garage doors, openers, spring assemblies, cables, tracks, and electronic operator systems.
- Installations: Perform complete installations of new residential and commercial doors, sectionals, rolling steel doors, and automatic opening systems according to manufacturer standards.
- Service Calls: Drive company vehicle to client sites to conduct diagnostic service calls, explain recommended repairs, and complete work efficiently.
- On-Call Rotation: Participate in mandatory scheduled on-call shifts to respond to emergency service requests after hours or on weekends.
- Customer Care: Deliver professional customer service, provide accurate repair quotes, answer technical questions, and ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Record Keeping & Inventory: Maintain accurate inventory of parts and specialized tools on your service truck; complete electronic work orders and documentation accurately.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience repairing and installing residential and commercial garage doors and opening systems.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong mechanical background with proven troubleshooting ability in motors, control boards, springs, and wiring.
- Background Check: Must have a clean background.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs), climb ladders, work on lifts, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- On-Call Availability: Flexibility to participate in the company's mandatory emergency on-call rotation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with residential homeowners and commercial account managers.
