Our reputation is built on quality workmanship, reliable service, and exceptional customer care. We are currently seeking a skilled Overhead Door Service & Installation Technician to join our team.

Position Summary
As a Service & Installation Technician, you will be responsible for the complete service, repair, and installation of overhead doors, operators, and loading dock equipment. This hands-on role involves working independently or as part of a crew on both residential and commercial job sites. You will ensure all work meets company standards, manufacturer specifications, and strict safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather materials for work orders and load/unload materials onto the truck and job site
• Perform service and installation of overhead doors, operators, and loading dock equipment according to work order standards and specifications
• Adapt materials as necessary to properly fit openings
• Inspect garage/entry doors, openers, and related components; diagnose problems; repair or replace parts; install new doors; test and make adjustments
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment safely and effectively
• Detect faulty operations or defective materials and report them to supervision
• Accurately track time and complete work orders for each job, submitting them daily to the production coordinator
• Maintain all tools, materials, lifts, and equipment in good working condition
• Perform daily truck maintenance and complete required truck inspections
• Maintain a clean and organized job site after each job (housekeeping)
• Collect payment according to company procedures when required
• Pick up inventory and ensure the service truck is properly stocked with tools and materials
• Respond to work assignments and tasks as directed by Manager or Call Center
• Strictly follow all OSHA guidelines, company safety policies, and job site safety rules
• Comply with all DOT requirements and driving safety rules while operating a company vehicle

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills
• Experience in the construction industry is helpful (comprehensive factory training provided)
• Basic math skills required
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a crew in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (DMV report required upon employment)
• Must be able to drive a company vehicle and follow all DOT and company driving policies

Physical Demands

• Ability to consistently lift, push, pull, kneel, crouch, and reach while handling tools and materials necessary to install and service garage doors
• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and use depth perception
• Must be able to work at heights and in various positions

Work Environment

• Work is performed in commercial and industrial settings, which may include new construction sites or occupied buildings
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions
