Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Commercial Garage Door Installer / Service technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial garage doors and related systems across various construction sites and commercial facilities. Your expertise will ensure that each project is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and service a wide range of commercial garage doors, including sectional doors, rolling steel doors, and specialty door systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute installations and repairs.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to complete projects efficiently.
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks required for door hanging, frame carpentry, metal stud framing, and fixture installation.
- Conduct troubleshooting to diagnose mechanical or electrical issues with garage door systems and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and manufacturer specifications.
- Assist with remodeling projects involving trim carpentry, caulking, locksmithing, electrical work, or cabinet installation as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction site environments with a focus on garage door installation or related mechanical work.
- Skilled in glass installation, welding, metal fabrication, and working with schematics or technical diagrams.
- Hands-on knowledge of carpentry (including frame carpentry), electrical systems, remodeling processes, and handyman tasks.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and mechanical schematics essential for precise project execution.
- Prior experience working on construction sites involving metal stud framing or fixture installation is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail throughout each project phase.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience enhances versatility in troubleshooting complex systems.
