Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting individuals facing challenges related to addiction, mental health, and behavioral health. As a Peer Coach, you will leverage your lived experiences and professional skills to empower clients on their journey towards recovery and personal growth. This role requires a commitment to fostering a supportive environment that encourages positive change and resilience.
Duties
- Provide one-on-one coaching and support to clients, helping them set and achieve personal goals related to recovery and wellness.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients and promote self-efficacy.
- Facilitate group sessions focused on skill-building, coping strategies, and peer support.
- Assist clients in navigating community resources, including mental health services, addiction counseling, and social services.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and interactions while adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Serve as a mentor, providing guidance and encouragement based on personal experiences.
- Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Minimum 60 Hour Training in Recovery Coaching (CCAR, CHOICES, etc)
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) a plus
- Justice involved encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques and crisis management strategies.
- Strong mentoring abilities with a focus on empowering individuals through shared experiences.
- Familiarity with systems relevant to mental health and addiction services is beneficial.
- Previous experience in crisis intervention is an asset.
