What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Waddler Teacher position at Over The Rainbow Learning Center?
Assistant Teacher - Early Childhood
This is not a “just a job” in childcare.
If you’re the kind of person who notices the details, takes pride in your work, and understands that early childhood education shapes a child’s entire future.
Over the Rainbow Learning center is a high-standard, play-based early learning center serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Our classrooms are intentional, structured, and joyful, aligned with CTELDS and grounded in real developmental impact.
We are looking for an Assistant Teacher who is dependable, engaged, and ready to be part of a professional team that holds itself to a higher bar.
What You’ll Actually Do (Day-to-Day Expectations)
This role is active, hands-on, and requires consistency not just good intentions. You will:
- Support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment
- Actively engage with children throughout the entire day, not supervise from the sidelines
- Help implement a play-based curriculum that supports physical, cognitive, social-emotional, and language development
- Maintain constant supervision and awareness of all children
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures with precision
- Assist with diapering, feeding, naps, and transitions while maintaining dignity and care
- Contribute to a language-rich, well-prepared classroom environment
- Communicate professionally with families, including daily updates and documentation
- Work collaboratively with your team to maintain a positive, respectful culture
This is a role for someone who can stay engaged, organized, and present from the moment they walk in to the moment they leave.
