Position Summary - The Housekeeper position maintains sanitation of the facility for the health, comfort and safety of residents, staff and visitors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities -
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- The following procedure, performs routine cleaning as scheduled in resident, staff and ancillary areas.
- Mopping: mop entire area insuring obstacles have been moved to clean complete surface.
- Dusting: all horizontal and vertical surfaces from the ceiling to the floor are dusted and/or polished.
- Vacuuming: vacuum carpet, drapes, upholstery and vents inuring all necessary obstacles have been moved to clean and complete surface
- Trash collection: collects and disposes of trash from containers ranging from 7 quarts to 30 gallons.
- Restrooms: cleans and disinfects all areas in the restroom, including but not limited to sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, fixtures and bathtubs.
- Replenish supplies: checks and replaces when depleted and/or according to policy hand soap, paper toweling, liners, linen, hygiene products.
- Equipment maintenance: maintains, replaces and stores all equipment Reports to the Director any malfunctions in equipment.
- Cart set up: responsible for maneuvering housekeeping carts, weighing up to100 pounds throughout the facility; maintains appropriate cleaning supplies on cart.
- Discharge cleaning: responsible for deep cleaning resident rooms/apartments inclusive of washing windows, baseboards, inside of drawers, cabinets and closets.
- Assists in cleaning up emergency spills observed or upon request.
- Attends work as scheduled.
- Performs tasks assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Sufficient education to demonstrate spoke and written English.
- Demonstrates strong communication and relationship building skills with residents, and is able to explain residents' needs to others as needed for resident advocacy.
