Location: We are located in Bolivar, PA just outside of Ligonier, PA
Job Type: Full-time
Requirements:
· Minimum of 21 years of age
· Ability to pass PA State Criminal Check (ACT 34)
· Ability to pass PA Child Abuse Clearance (ACT 33)
·Ability to pass FBI Clearance (ACT 114)
· Clean National Sex Offender Registry Report
· Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
· Pass a physical examination and drug screening
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Teach students practical life skills, workplace readiness, job exploration, self-advocacy, and independent living.
- Develop engaging, hands-on lessons that connect real-world skills to everyday life and employment.
- Share knowledge in a variety of technical and trade-related areas through demonstrations, projects, and problem-solving activities.
- Prepare lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and maintain student progress records.
- Mentor students by modeling professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.
- Create a safe, positive, and structured learning environment where students can build confidence and practical skills.
- Complete required documentation and communicate student progress with the educational team.
- Collaborate with coworkers to support student success.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands and isn't afraid to tackle something new. A successful candidate will have experience in several of the following areas rather than being an expert in just one.
Examples include:
- Small engine repair
- Carpentry
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Welding and fabrication
- Automotive repair
- Construction
- General maintenance
- Electronics
- Mechanical troubleshooting
- Tool and equipment operation
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical certification, apprenticeship, military experience, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
- Previous experience training, coaching, mentoring, leading crews, or supervising others is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt lessons to students with different learning styles.
- A positive attitude, patience, and a desire to help young people develop the skills needed for successful employment and independent living.
