Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver/Groundskeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting students to their designated locations while ensuring a comfortable and pleasant travel experience as well as maintaining the school grounds. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain a safe environment for all students.
Duties
- Safely operate the bus on assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing excellent customer service throughout the journey.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior, ensuring that all safety equipment is in place and functional.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding any delays or issues encountered during the route.
- Monitor passenger behavior to ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a respectful environment.
- Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and passenger counts as required.
Experience
- Previous experience as a bus driver or in a similar transportation role is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices such as irrigation, lawn care, landscaping, gardening, horticulture, and maintenance is a plus.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools related to vehicle maintenance is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively while adhering to schedules.
