Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience in assisting clients with daily living activities and ensuring their overall well-being. This role requires a nurturing demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while adhering to care plans.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in the client's condition, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Administer medication as prescribed and assist with care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning based on dietary requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces.
- Support clients with mobility challenges using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Offer specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, or other developmental disabilities.
- Collaborate with family members and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care is delivered effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience in caregiving or related fields such as home health, assisted living, or long-term care.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality.
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in health status.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
