Position: Porter 

Outreach is seeking a qualified Full time Porter/Office Cleaner to work in our substance abuse treatment program at Outreach Adolescent residential facility located in Brentwood, LI. The Porter/Office Cleaner will carry out vital services that keep our building running smoothly.   The schedule for this position is 8 am to 4 pm Monday- Friday.

Job Scope:

• Lobby maintenance   
• Clean common areas like kitchens, cafeterias and offices  
• Vacuum all carpeted rooms and mop non-carpeted floors    
• Monitor and service restrooms, refill soap dispensers, toilet paper rolls, toilet seat covers and paper towels in bathrooms  
• Remove trash and debris; MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT 50 LBS   
• Meeting setup/tear down   
• Wipe down desks/file cabinets, etc. in all offices.   
• Be aware of universal precautions and proper procedures for cleaning up hazardous spills

Qualifications:

• Minimum of High School diploma or GED  
• Previous experience as a cleaner/porter   
• Basic construction, electrical and plumbing skills a plus   
• Understanding of federal and state building safety standards    
• Knowledge of OSHA universal precautions  
• Clean and valid NYS drivers license a plus  

Position Status

This is a full-time non-exempt position. 

This job operates in a professional office environment and outside in the field. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to travel among assigned sites and locations as needed.
