What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Counselor position at Outpost Summer Camps?
Outpost is looking for warm, motivated staff eager to build valuable skills as you provide meaningful experiences for children. Outpost Senior Counselors lead small, consistent day camp groups for campers ages 5 to 14 for four 2-week sessions (June 6-August 7). You will be placed on a consistent six-person training team to provide support and individualized growth.

Responsibilities
Senior Counselors lead groups in daily activities in Canyonside Park, the Los Penasquitos Nature Preserve, and swimming areas (pool, beach, and/or bay) and inspire the memories campers treasure for a lifetime. Counselors demonstrate excellent judgment, sensitivity to campers' needs, openness to feedback, and a desire to learn.
Contract
Staff must commit to a full 9-week contract from June 6 to August 7. The first week is training week (June 6-12). Daily hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with biweekly Wednesday evening staff meetings. New Senior Counselors are paid $17.75 per hour and $26.625 for any overtime (e.g., staff meetings).
Qualifications
Must be 18 or older. Must obtain CPR/First Aid certification prior to camp (provided by Outpost on June 8).
