Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, capable of working independently, and demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and initiative. This role supports the accounting department with day-to-day financial operations, data entry, reconciliations, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely.
  • Enter and maintain financial data in QuickBooks.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare invoices, and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Generate financial reports and perform data analysis using Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions.
  • Identify discrepancies and proactively investigate and resolve issues.
  • Support tax filings as needed.
  • Collaborate with management to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
  • Handle confidential financial information with discretion and integrity.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Office-based. Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
