Pediatric Physical Therapist ( Full-Time)
Crane Rehab Center is made up of a compassionate and dedicated team of therapists and professionals who work together in a collaborative, positive, and supportive environment. We are currently seeking a motivated and caring Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our growing practice.
Position Summary
The Pediatric Physical Therapist is responsible for providing high-quality therapeutic services to pediatric patients in accordance with physician orders, professional practice standards, and applicable state and federal regulations. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with families, providers, and interdisciplinary team members to support patient progress and outcomes.
The ideal candidate will represent Crane Rehab Center professionally and positively while helping promote quality patient care within the community and among referral sources.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program required
- Current Louisiana Physical Therapy license in good standing required
- Current CPR certification required
- Pediatric experience preferred, but not required
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, and time-management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record/documentation systems
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Perform patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans consistent with physician orders and patient needs
- Provide skilled physical therapy treatment services in accordance with professional standards and state practice guidelines
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including treatment notes, progress reports, discharge summaries, home exercise programs, and billing-related documentation
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, exercises, equipment, and home programs
- Supervise and direct support personnel as appropriate
- Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulations
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, physicians, caregivers, and referral sources
- Participate in chart reviews, staff meetings, trainings, and mandatory education requirements
- Support community outreach and marketing initiatives as requested
Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledge of physical therapy principles, anatomy, physiology, and pediatric diagnoses
- Strong customer service and patient-centered care skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Professional demeanor and commitment to teamwork
- Ability to use therapy software and documentation systems accurately and efficiently
- Dependable attendance and reliability
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
This position requires the ability to:
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, push, pull, and move throughout the workday
- Safely assist pediatric patients with mobility and therapeutic activities
- Occasionally lift or assist with moving equipment and/or patients in accordance with safe patient handling guidelines
- Work in a clinical outpatient setting with moderate noise levels
