Department: Oral Surgery
Schedule: Full-time days: Monday - Friday
Location: Detroit, MI
Assists the oral surgeon during medical procedures.
Responsibilities:
Assists in preparation and set-up of for surgical procedures in the office and hospital operating rooms.
Monitors patients and assists with general anesthesia and IV sedation procedures in hospital and outpatient office settings.
Discusses post-operative instructions for care and management with the patient.
Relays post-operative complications/questions to surgeon.
Maintains surgical equipment.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Preferred Credentials:
- Dental Anest Asst Natl Cert credentialed from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
- Dental Assistant credentialed from the Michigan Board of Dentistry
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
