We focus on dialogue recording and editing for audiobooks, animation, and live action television and film, as well as for video games and other media. Our ideal candidate for this junior engineer’s role is experienced using Pro Tools and has a kind and warm demeanor along with a strong desire to perform at the top of their game as part of our team.
We are looking for a focused, service-oriented, detail-minded junior engineer who has the talent to advance into a role as a staff engineer. The person in this role will build skills through our training, which includes audiobook production, dialogue recording and editing, and ADR. We seek a candidate who brings a high level of personal responsibility, technical interest in dialogue recording, and a passion for great audio to their work.
This is a full-time salaried position eligible for health, retirement, and other benefits according to our policies.
Job responsibilities (Reporting to Senior Mixer and Studio Principal):
- Ensure all stages are neat, clean and ready for client sessions, this includes resetting of stages to “ready” status throughout the workday and at the end of each workday
- Prep Pro Tools rigs and sessions based on direction from staff engineers and mixers
- Setup and breakdown mics, mic stands, headphones, amps and all other materials required for sessions
- Engineer audiobook sessions, perform editorial and qc, and mastering of the final audio
- Engineer and train on sessions for animation and live action
- Perform editorial tasks in Pro Tools, such as top/tailing of selects, de-noising and fixing edits, and clip gaining, as well as labeling and organizing files and folders
- Assist in sessions as directed by staff engineers and mixers, including note taking, mic adjustments, video support, managing storyboard displays and other relevant tasks
- Assist studio team with keeping all areas of the studio neat, clean, and ready for work
- Assist studio team with greeting and directing talent, clients, and guests
- Pick up equipment, supplies, food, beverage, snacks, etc. for the studio as directed by senior managers
