Scope & Impact
Lead multi-discipline consulting projects from proposal through deliverable, coordinating civil design, environmental permitting, survey, and GIS teams to keep work on schedule, on budget, and built to Outlaw’s standard. You’ll be the primary point of contact for clients and the person who makes sure every discipline delivers on time.
What You’ll Do
- Manage projects from kickoff through closeout, including scope definition, work plans, scheduling, and resource coordination across engineering, environmental, survey, and GIS teams.
- Serve as the primary client contact—set expectations, deliver updates, and maintain the kind of communication that earns repeat work.
- Build and maintain project schedules; coordinate sequencing across disciplines and drive timely updates when conditions change.
- Own project financials: budgets, monthly forecasting, invoicing coordination, and proactive management of cost risks and change orders.
- Coordinate with environmental staff on permitting workflows including NEPA compliance, wetland delineations, Section 404 permits, cultural resource surveys, and T&E species assessments.
- Manage subcontractor and vendor scopes, procurement, and performance accountability.
- Oversee deliverable quality—engineering plans, survey data packages, environmental reports, and GIS products—before they leave the building.
- Lead project meetings, assign action items, and maintain documentation discipline (RFIs, submittals, correspondence, field reports).
- Support business development by contributing to proposals, fee estimates, and client presentations.
- Mentor project engineers, field staff, and junior PMs through delegation, accountability, and leading by example.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of project management experience in civil engineering, environmental consulting, or a related AEC discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-discipline project teams (engineering, environmental, survey) simultaneously.
- Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and client-facing communication.
- Working knowledge of environmental permitting processes (NEPA, wetlands, cultural resources, stormwater) or willingness to develop it quickly.
- Familiarity with civil design deliverables: grading plans, utility design, SWPPPs, drainage plans, or infrastructure design.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to keep multiple projects moving without dropping details.
- Willingness to travel to project sites, primarily in the Uinta Basin and across Utah.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience in multi-discipline consulting will be considered.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in oil and gas, mining, or energy-sector consulting.
- PE license or PMP certification.
- Experience with regulatory agency coordination (Army Corps of Engineers, USFWS, BLM, State agencies).
- Familiarity with survey workflows, construction staking, and GIS deliverables.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Procore, or similar platforms.
Pay: $75,112.64 - $90,000.00 per year
