What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Agent position at Outlaw Conversions?

Local manufacturing plant is looking for skilled Purchasing Clerk to buy raw materials, and other goods necessary for the production line. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a problem-solving attitude, and a commercial mindset. The goal for this position is to raise profit margins by making the most high-quality and cost-effective purchases by acquiring supplies that are critical for the success of our business operations
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research, track, and resolve parts issues, orders, and/or problems.
- Compiles available stock data and orders to maintain optimum inventory levels.
- Maintain open lines of communication with vendors to ensure the availability of raw materials and other goods.
- Maintains accurate records on alternate vendors or similar/replacement stock options.
- Support supervisory and executive staff by performing purchasing and clerical functions
- Responsible for the receipt, ordering, and processing of purchase requests
- Creates/manages/follows up on purchase orders.
- Enters necessary invoices, purchase orders, and receipts as directed by accounting department to close out month end.
- Works with warehouse and shipping/receiving to prepare/process receivers.
- Assists with data entry into existing inventory program and manages checks and balances of that system through cycle counts & inventory counts.
- Monitors stock levels for stock parts
- Prepares and implements effective negotiation tactics with vendors for lead times and pricing.
- Manages relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance of terms of contracts.
- Works with warehouse and shipping/receiving in reviewing delivered goods/materials to ensure quality and minimize after-delivery returns.
- Prepares and submits detail reports to supervisors and executive staff as requested (revenues, buying expenditures, purchasing strategies, etc.).
- Reconciles daily cc use.
- Assists in maintaining weekly budget as overseen by purchasing manager and accounting.
