Landscape Supervisor

Outer Banks Blue Realty Services is currently seeking to fill the position of Landscape Supervisor. The Landscape Supervisor role is a key position within the company and is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of operational activities within the Property Services department. This is a full-time position (wage based on experience).

Reports to: Property Services Manager

Other Department Relationships: Maintenance, Owner Services, Guest Excellence

Work Week: TBD (Weekend Work In-Season required)

Job Requirements:

• Supervise and lead landscape crew(s) to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety
• Foster an environment of open communication and creative problem solving
• Perform and oversee routine landscape maintenance including mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, mulching, weeding, and seasonal cleanups
• Lead installation projects including landscape beds, trees, shrubs, sod, and decorative stone
• Install and repair paver patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other hardscape features
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems, including controllers, valves, heads, and drip irrigation
• Construct and repair wood and vinyl fencing
• Operate and maintain commercial landscape equipment and hand tools
• Train, coach, and develop crew members while maintaining productivity and workmanship standards
• Perform quality inspections to ensure work meets company expectations
• Monitor material usage and coordinate equipment, supplies, and deliveries
• Communicate effectively with management regarding project progress, scheduling, and issues
• Maintain accurate records for labor, materials, and completed work

Critical Skills:

• Strong leadership and crew management abilities
• Extensive knowledge of commercial and residential landscape maintenance practices
• Experience with hardscape construction including pavers, natural stone, retaining walls, and edging systems
• Working knowledge of irrigation system installation, diagnostics, and repair
• Ability to build and repair fencing
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to estimate labor and material needs for projects
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to safely operate skid steers, mini excavators, trenchers, compactors, and other landscape equipment
• Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment
• Effective verbal communication with owners, guests, and team members
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Minimum requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be able to pass a drug test
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional landscaping experience
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or crew leadership experience
• Demonstrated experience with landscape construction and hardscape installation
• Experience installing and repairing irrigation systems
• Experience constructing fencing
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to obtain and maintain company-approved driver status
• Ability to operate trucks with trailers and commercial landscape equipment
• Irrigation certification, pesticide applicator license, or other industry certifications are a plus
• Experience with skid steer, mini excavator, and compact equipment preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and cold
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and lift throughout the workday
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Ability to push, pull, dig, shovel, rake, and perform repetitive physical tasks
• Ability to safely operate commercial landscape equipment for extended periods
• Ability to climb ladders and work on uneven terrain
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Good visual acuity and depth perception for equipment operation and project layout
• Ability to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays during peak seasons or emergency response situations

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
