Equipment Operator

Description

This role will report to a property near the Salem, NH area.

The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of equipment which may include: front end loader, skid steer, tenant sweeper, Kubota tractor & attachments. Operator will use the equipment to perform a variety of tasks which may include snow removal, parking lot cleanup & landscape maintenance client sites.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operates equipment to complete a variety of job tasks to assist with landscape enhancement projects.
• Cleans, lubricates, and maintains equipment.
• Conducts daily equipment inspections reports on equipment before use.
• Reports any repair issues or equipment hazards immediately.
• Secures special attachments to equipment.
• Assists with general labor duties when needed, in order to complete landscape construction projects.
• Wears appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
• Completes daily paperwork detailing job hours and costs.
• Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Works in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge and understanding of operating equipment.
• Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Excellent observation skills and strong attention to detail.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team.
• Speak, read, and write English.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational Certification.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating similar equipment.
• Valid Driver's License.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time, and carry out strenuous physical tasks.
• Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Requires good manual dexterity.
• Excellent stamina is required.
• Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis.
• Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold.
• Work flexible hours including occasional weekends.
