What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Manager position at Outdoor Collective?
- Accounts Payable Management:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable department.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense reports, and payments.
- Maintain effective relationships with vendors and resolve any payment-related issues or discrepancies.
- Supervise & oversee work conducted by overseas partners performing data entry & 3-way matching process for all merchandise related AP
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the AP function.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and review AP reports and metrics, providing insights to management on payment trends and outstanding liabilities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial audits by providing necessary AP documentation and support.
- Compliance and Controls:
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies, including segregation of duties and authorization protocols.
- Monitor and manage the AP aging report and resolve any issues related to overdue or disputed invoices.
- Vendor Management:
- Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate terms to achieve favorable payment conditions.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable in wholesale industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field plus
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Work Schedule
Full-time position in-office Monday to Friday 9am – 6PM
