The Seasonal Parks Worker assists in the maintenance of the grounds, facilities, and equipment of the Outagamie County Parks System.

Key Responsibilities
The following duties are most critical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Cuts grass, trims trees and shrubs and performs other horticultural tasks.
- Maintains and cleans buildings, restrooms and the grounds, and assists in the upkeep of all recreation areas as requested.
- Assists in the installation and maintenance of playground equipment, park benches, picnic tables and other park equipment.
- Paints benches, picnic tables, facilities and buildings as needed.
- Performs landscaping duties including planting or moving trees, shrubs, and laying sod.
- May operate heavy or light equipment and assist with their maintenance and repair if qualifications allow.
- Constructs and maintains signs, piers, fishing docks and small bridges.
- Must work 3 weekends caring for, feeding and cleaning up after the animals at the Children's Farm.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education/Certifications/Experience Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old or older.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain
- Must have the ability to lift items, carry, and move items up to 50 lbs. or more several times per shift.
Required or Preferred Skills
- Grounds maintenance (mowing, trimming, landscaping, and general upkeep)
- Operation of hand tools, power tools, and light equipment
- Basic maintenance and repair skills
- Knowledge of safety procedures and proper equipment use
- Physical stamina for lifting, walking, and manual labor
- Attention to detail and pride in maintaining public spaces
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Customer service and public interaction skills
- Dependability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
Work Environment:
- Outdoor county park setting with exposure to varying weather conditions
- Physical work requiring walking, standing, bending, and lifting
- Work may occur on uneven terrain and natural surfaces
- Interaction with park visitors and staff throughout the day
- Noise exposure from equipment, vehicles, and public activity
- Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
