What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Tennis Coach – Youth Program position at Out of This World Athletics?
OTWA is launching Solar Servers, a high-energy youth tennis program in Bastrop, TX. We run high-density, multi-station group clinics for ages 5 to 18. We operate with a 12-player maximum per court and a 2-coach system (1 Lead, 1 Assistant). No long, single-file lines—just constant movement and maximum reps!
The Role:
As the Assistant Coach, you are the energy driver of the court! Working directly under the Lead Coach, you will:
- Keep Kids Moving: Bring enthusiastic energy to keep kids focused, smiling, and active.
- Run Sub-Stations: Independently supervise assigned zones like footwork ladders, target-practice cones, or mini-net games.
- Feed Balls: Deliver consistent hand-feeds or light racket-feeds to keep rally drills going.
- Support the Lead: Follow the Lead Coach's drill instructions and direct any parent questions to them.
Requirements ($15/hr Base):
- Must pass a national background check and be willing to obtain USTA Safe Play Approval (SafeSport) and CPR/First Aid certification.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Active and alert—no resting against the fence or checking phones on the court.
Preferred Qualifications ($18/hr Tier):
- Current or former High School Varsity player or Collegiate player (NCAA/NAIA/Club).
- Capable of precision racket-feeding with varying depth and spin for high school teens.
- Proactive enough to take 100% ownership of a sub-station and give instant, encouraging mechanical corrections on the fly.
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
