Job Overview
Out East Therapy of New York is seeking dedicated and compassionate Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) to support students in school settings. We have three posiitons for 1:1 direct treatment in 3 different schools. All 3-5 days. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applied behavior analysis and experience in special education, with a passion for helping students succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally.
In this role, you will work directly in schools to assess student needs, design and implement behavior intervention plans, and collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to create positive learning environments.
Duties
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) in accordance with school and district requirements.
- Develop and implement evidence-based Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) that align with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Model and coach behavioral strategies for teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
- Collect, analyze, and report behavioral data to monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- Participate in CSE/IEP meetings, providing professional input on behavioral supports and progress.
- Collaborate with administrators, school psychologists, counselors, and families to ensure consistent implementation of strategies across settings.
- Provide training to school staff on behavioral supports, de-escalation strategies, and reinforcement systems.
- Stay current on best practices in school-based ABA and special education regulations.
Qualifications
- Current Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) required.
- Experience in school-based or educational settings strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of special education law, IEP processes, and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong skills in behavioral assessment, intervention design, and staff training.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams.
