Established in 2024, our center embodies the values of love, education, respect, and diversity that have made ourBRIDGE a trusted resource within the New Charlottean community. We envision the CIHC space being an intentional and collaborative hub that brings together partners who work with newcomers to ensure every person in our city has the support and access to resources they need to build their lives in Charlotte with joy, dignity, and autonomy.
Position Overview
This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about welcoming and supporting diverse communities in Charlotte. From the moment a person walks into the CIHC, the Resource Navigator will ensure people feel welcomed, heard, and connected with appropriate resources to address their needs. Utilizing technology onsite, you will be responsible for onboarding first time clients as they enter the CIHC, coordinating appropriate language access, and connecting them to the ourBRIDGE Family Support team, Atrium Community Health Worker, the Charlotte Community Health Clinic, and legal service providers. The Resource Navigator will also be responsible for managing and tracking client case files, including resources and programming accessed.
In collaboration with the Outreach and Program Manager, the Resource Navigator will also help plan and carry out programming tailored to the needs of the community, informed by qualitative surveys to ensure the CIHC remains responsive and caring to the needs of the people we work with.

Key Responsibilities
Client Intake and Engagement
- Serve as the first point of contact for individuals as they come into the CIHC.
- Ensure language access needs are addressed for every family utilizing trusted resources and our diverse Family Support Team. Preferably accessing resources for families to be connected to in their first language.
- Assist individuals with the intake form and create a file to store and manage their information and track CIHC utilization.
- Connect clients to trusted resources and ourBRIDGE Family Support Navigators.
- As ourBRIDGE is a United Way Quarterback Organization, support in facilitating emergency fund distributions and other resources to prevent displacement and address urgent needs.
- Provide basic necessities such as food, diapers, clothing, winter coats, and school supplies, either on-site or through delivery.
- Facilitate families’ access to specialized resources (e.g., healthcare, housing assistance) and ensure consistent follow-up.
- Work collaboratively with the Outreach & Program Manager and Family Support Team to organize community-building activities, events, and workshops in response to community interests.
- Work collaboratively with CIHC partners, including the Charlotte Community Health Clinic and legal service provider to plan programming that communicates and highlights their services offered.
- Document all interactions, assessments, and updates in a structured case management system.
- Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with other team members to discuss ongoing projects, challenges, and best practices.
- Assist in reporting and tracking attendance outcomes and other impact metrics as required.
- Providing reports to direct supervisor.
- Experience in case management, social services, family support, or community engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Fluent in Spanish.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with diverse populations.
- Cultural humility and the ability to take compassionate approaches when dealing with diverse communities who may be navigating difficult circumstances.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient digital literacy and can efficiently use various digital tools and technologies including Google Suite, Canva, etc.
