Ouray County is seeking a Finance Director to enhance the financial performance of our county. This role, reporting to the County Manager, involves strategic planning, organizing, and directing finance operations while ensuring legal compliance.

- Salary Range: $116,636.87 to $145,796.09

Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial strategy and direction for the county.
- Prepare the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and Annual Budget.
- Oversee annual audits and propose financial transaction policies.
- Support Department Heads and Elected Officials with financial management tools.
- Advise the County Manager on critical financial policies.
- Act as Interim County Manager when required.
- Manage grant acquisition and financial reporting.
- Promote financial transparency and public communication.
- Prepare and manage grant budgets and documentation.
Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution.
- CPA license or ability to acquire within one year.
- CPFO certification or ability to acquire within one year.
Certifications and Licenses
- Valid State Driver's License
- Must pass a background check (criminal and traffic)
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
