The Battery Helper supports the Field Operations Installation team in the installation of battery systems, including Sonnen battery cabinets. This role involves hands-on, physically demanding work in a field environment and requires reliability, teamwork, and a strong willingness to learn. The Battery Helper plays a key role in supporting efficient, safe, and high-quality installations.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of Sonnen battery cabinets and related systems
- Support technicians and foremen with general installation tasks and field operations
- Use hand tools and perform basic construction-related work
- Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment as needed
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects
- Maintain a clean and organized job site
- Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures
- Work collaboratively with the installation team to meet project timelines and goals
Education Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical/trade school training in solar, battery, or electrical systems preferred
- Basic knowledge of hand tools required
- General construction knowledge preferred
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift heavy objects
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Reliable and punctual with consistent attendance
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Solar experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to work 40–50 hours per week, with flexibility based on project needs
- Willingness to work weekends as needed
- Must adhere to all safety protocols and company policie
- Ability to work in extreme environments (hot, humid, rain, etc.)
- Ability to work within the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses, and PPE
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to withstand heights, climb ladders, and access roofs (daily)
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. regularly
- Must be available for 8–10 hour shifts and flexible hours when needed
- Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing required
