Job Description
Job Title: Eagles’ Nest Extended Care Director
General Responsibilities: The Extended Care Director will coordinate, supervise, and direct the Extended Care program; both before school and after school.
Work Hours: Before school from 6:30-8:30 and after school from 2:45-5:45 for approximately 20-25 hours per week.
Responsible to: The Administrator, Board of Christian Education and the congregation of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Support the mission and purpose of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church to proclaim and witness to the Christian faith.
- Implement the mission statement, philosophies, goals, and policies of Our Savior’s Lutheran School.
- Lives the Christian faith.
- Preferably possesses a bachelor's degree or an associate’s degree in a child or educational related field; or has previous experience with an after school program or extra curricular programs.
- Be professional, poised, punctual, and enthusiastic.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishes and reviews Extended Care policies and procedures.
- Recruits and screens candidates for hire and obtains approval for all hiring all staff from the School Administrator.
- Actively trains, supervises, coaches, and encourages staff.
- Trains staff in emergency procedures.
- Organizes and conducts meetings with staff as needed.
- Arranges for substitutes when needed.
- Proactively communicates with staff, parents, and students to ensure the success of the program.
- Plans and implements activities to meet the physical and social needs of the children in the program.
- Ensures the safety and security of the students and establishes procedures for arrival and departure.
- Ensures the children are actively engaged in developmentally appropriate programs and activities.
- Provides adequate equipment and activities and ensures they are well maintained, safe and clean at all times.
- Plans, orders, purchases, and supplies snacks.
- Works with a school purchasing agent on needed supplies and budget.
- Prepares weekly work schedules for staff.
- Maintains program registrations and supplies enrollment and attendance to the school office on a daily basis.
- Reviews and signs all staff timesheets and turns in to the school office on a bi-monthly basis.
- Collaborates with office and administration regarding facility needs.
- Shall respect confidentiality of student/parent information.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.06 - $25.36 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
