Job Description
Our Place Portland Inc. is seeking a part-time Programs Coordinator to support our year-round programs for youth and families. This position begins December 1st 2025. In this role, you will collaborate with the Executive Director to plan programs and then be responsible for their execution. The expectations would be as follows; gathering supplies, setting up programs, leading food preparation of Shared Meals, picking up donations, managing the cleanliness/orderliness of the space, and creating trusting bonds with youth and families. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, the Programs Coordinator will also support Youth Groups and Academic Tutoring programs as support staff and will be youth-facing. We work to provide authentic, high-quality, and effective programs to increase resilience. The coordinator must maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding all youth, family, and staff information. This includes protecting sensitive personal, medical, and behavioral details shared in the course of program activities. The coordinator is expected to handle all records, conversations, and communications in compliance with organizational policies, state and federal privacy laws, and ethical standards of the youth development field.
This role will work directly with and report to the Executive Director, requiring consistent, timely, and effective communication.
Duties and Responsibilities
Must be available the following times:
Monday - 12:00-2:00 (2 hrs)
Tuesday - 12:00-2:00pm (2 hrs)
Wednesday - 12:00 - 6:00pm (6 hrs)
Thursday - 12:00 - 5:00pm (5 hrs)
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare simple Shared Meals for each program day
- Maintain the Shared Meals kitchenette
- Pick up basic needs supplies donations from partners using personal vehicle
- Order and organize STEAM supplies
- Attend youth groups Wednesdays and Thursdays as support staff
- Drive passenger van to drop off youth Wednesdays and Thursdays (negotiable)
- Assist with fundraising events and community events by attending, inviting community partners, and supporting the Executive Director
- Assist with outreach through company email account
Required Experience/Skills
- Undergraduate degree in Education, Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, or related field
- 2 years of experience working in the education or non-profit sector
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced working environment and maintain a learning disposition
- Ability to follow a simple budget
- Clean driving record and personal vehicle
- Mandated Reporter training (Will be provided if not already completed)
- Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct
