Our Lady of the Elms, a private Catholic school rooted in the Dominican tradition, educates girls
and young women to live their lives boldly with purpose, confidence, kindness, resilience, justice
and faith.
As the only all-girls, faith-based K–12 school in Summit County, the Elms is seeking a full-time,
exempt Intervention Specialist for the 2026-2027 academic year beginning in August 2026.
The Intervention Specialist will work under the supervision of the Principal and be supported by
a Team Lead.

The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing, academically rigorous, and faith-filled classroom
environment where young learners can thrive intellectually, socially, spiritually, and emotionally.
As a sometimes primary educator, you will guide students through pivotal milestones in literacy,
numeracy, and spiritual formation, keeping the school’s mission and Dominican identity at the
heart of all instruction.

Major Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with classroom teachers, counselors, and administrators to analyze student
performance data, evaluate assessment results, support inclusive practices, and develop
targeted intervention strategies.
2. Participate in IEP meetings with parents/guardians, administrators, and relevant
stakeholders; provide comprehensive data to inform IEP development in coordination
with the home school district while serving as an advocate for students and their families.
3. Design and deliver accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based interventions
for students who have been identified and qualified for special education services.
4. Monitor individual student progress on an ongoing basis and communicate meaningful,
actionable feedback to students and their parents/guardians.
5. Leverage assistive technology tools and resources to support and enhance learning for
students with diverse learning needs.
6. Administer and oversee appropriate accommodations for both classroom-based
assessments and standardized testing in compliance with student plans.
7. Actively participate in accommodation plan meetings and Student Support Team (SST)
meetings, contributing relevant data and professional insight.
8. Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress toward established
intervention goals and adjust programming as needed.
9. Employ a data-driven approach to instruction, refining and adapting strategies based on
ongoing formative and summative assessment results.
10. Partner with students, parents/guardians, and college and career counselors to develop
individualized transition plans and prepare students for post-secondary success. 11. Maintain consistent, transparent communication with parents/guardians regarding
student progress, achievements, and areas of growth.
12. Demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the academic, social, and emotional
well-being of students with learning differences.
13. Foster effective, collaborative communication among all members of the educational
team to ensure coordinated and cohesive student support.
14. Remain current on special education law, policy, and best practices to ensure full
compliance with all applicable regulations and mandates.
15. Provide specialized, individualized instruction to students with identified special needs
across one-on-one, small-group, and inclusive classroom settings, in strict accordance
with each student's IEP and/or ISP.
16. Administer formative and summative evaluations to measure student growth and
demonstrate the effectiveness of instructional practices, using results to inform future
planning.

c. Demonstrate a commitment to the Dominican pillars of study, preaching,
community, and prayer in your teaching.

Salary Range: $35,000 to $50,000 (varies by years of experience, multiple credentials, extra
services, and academic recommendations)

Core Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field from an accredited institution
● Excellent verbal and written skills
● Valid State of Ohio Teaching License Intervention Specialist (K-12)
● Experience in a Catholic learning environment preferred
● Complete the Diocese of Cleveland’s Virtus: Protecting God’s Children training prior to
employment
● Successfully pass a criminal background check (BCI/FBI)
