Position Title: Area Manager
Position Summary
The Area Manager (AM) is responsible for ensuring the operational success, instructional quality, and regulatory compliance of multiple Our Future Learning Center (OFLC) programs. This leadership role supports and develops Center Directors, leads regional strategy, manages emergent issues, and implements special projects that enhance the company’s performance and culture. The Area Manager’s responsibilities fall into three core categories: Director Management, Operational Support & Escalations, and Projects & Proposals.
Education and Professional Certifications
Have or are obtaining a BA, preferably in early childhood education or a related field. Must be Director I (working towards Director II) or Director II certified by the Mass. Department of Early Education and Care.
Knowledge
- Strong time management and organizational skills are important. Strong understanding of curriculum. Ability to work as part of a team. Clear understanding of developmentally appropriate practices, including conversations, behaviors, and needs.
- Expert knowledge of EEC regulations and licensing standards
- ITERS/ECERS Implementation and Review
- Excellent leadership, coaching, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Deep understanding of child development, curriculum development, and staff development
- Ability to build effective systems for accountability and continuous improvement
- Skilled in budget planning, communication, and conflict resolution
- High level of professionalism and discretion
Responsibilities
The Area Manager provides high-level operational, instructional, and strategic leadership across multiple Our Future Learning Center (OFLC) sites. They are responsible for ensuring that each program maintains excellence in early education, meets or exceeds EEC regulatory standards, and upholds OFLC’s commitment to a nurturing, compliant, and community-driven environment.
The Area Manager serves as the primary coach and supervisor for Center Directors, guiding their professional growth, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering a strong leadership culture across the region. This role also leads targeted initiatives that drive continuous improvement, scalability, and innovation within the organization.
In addition to coaching and oversight, the Area Manager provides hands-on support during escalated situations, drives company-wide projects, and represents executive leadership in site-level decision-making.
