Title: Youth and Children’s Shelter Manager
Dept/Program: New Beginnings/Reunion House
Reports to: Program Director                                                             Status: Full-time, Exempt

Salary: $50,000 annually

The primary purpose of this position is to lead and manage Reunion House, a 20-bed emergency shelter/support program, serving youth ages 12-17 who are temporarily separated from their families/guardians. Working collaboratively across departments, this position ensures the delivery of trauma-informed care, family engagement services, and strength-based support focused on safe and successful youth-family reunification when appropriate. The program is part of Our Family Services' comprehensive housing and support services for youth, young adults, and families experiencing housing instability.

All agency positions are expected to meet standards for attendance, punctuality, positive interactions, effective work habits, knowledge and skills, judgment and ethics. Essential duties include:

  • Creates and maintains a trauma-informed, culturally responsive environment
  • Manages day to day operations
  • Develops and implements innovative program approaches based on evidence-based practices
  • Coaches and supports professional development of Youth Care Workers
  • Manages HMIS data reporting and program documentation
  • Collaborates with Development team on funding proposals and reports
  • Ensures continuous quality improvement through youth and family feedback
  • Oversees staff scheduling and DES licensing compliance
  • Coordinates staff training
  • Serves as Safe Place Coordinator
  • Builds and maintains community partnerships for youth and family resources and referrals
  • Ensures effective transition planning emphasizing sustainable family relationships
  • Manages nutrition program (CACFP) implementation
  • Oversees program budget and financial operations
  • Participates in Administrator on Duty rotation
  • Represents program within agency and community

Scheduling: Reunion House operates 24/7/365. Position requires flexibility including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support youth and families. Regular schedules maintained when possible.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or three years' relevant experience
  • Two years' supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and positive youth development
  • Understanding of adolescent development and family dynamics
  • Eligible for state fingerprint clearance and food handler certification
  • Strong trauma-informed communication skills
  • Experience in program development and budget management
  • Cultural competency working with diverse populations
  • Valid Arizona driver's license, insurance, and clean driving record
  • Must pass a 10-panel drug test annually
  • Must pass a TB test annually.
  • Must pass an physical examination annually.
  • Must pass an extensive background check annually.
  • Proficiency with standard office and database software

Physical Demands: Position requires regular talking, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands/arms. Must lift/move up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally. Requires close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment. Must maintain availability via cell phone and complete annual TB screening.

Work Environment: Primarily indoor office environment with computer work. Occasional outdoor exposure and local travel required. Moderate noise levels. Evening/weekend work as needed. Environment must reflect trauma-informed principles and cultural responsiveness.
