Imports Generalist

The Import Generalist is responsible for providing support across multiple functions within the Rooms To Go Customs team. A primary focus for the Import Generalist will be to ensure the timely and accurate submission of all ISF filings. The Import Generalist will be required to provide support to other areas of the customs team including but not limited to administrative support and entry processing. The Import Generalist will have a wide knowledge of various functions within the Customs team and be able to step in to assist all customs areas as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure ISF filings are accurately processed in a timely manner.
• Review carrier booking reports for non-filings of ISF.
• Provide administrative coordination, communication, and document control for assigned project(s).
• Ability to track and update Ocean Vessel status.
• Prepares import documentation for data entry.
• Maintain control over ISF records, including tracking and filing
• Performs data entry of key milestones in shipment status.
• Support Customs Entry Writers as needed
• Correspond with internal and external clients / customers / vendors via email.
• Filing and recordkeeping
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively present and communicate with all levels within the organization, with agencies and vendors.
• Flexible, highly organized and process oriented.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities, meet demanding deadlines and adjust to sudden changes in workflow.
• The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of efficiency and accuracy is essential.
• Skilled in managing priorities.
• Detail oriented for processing invoices and data entry.
• Ability to act independently and take initiative to solve problems.
