What are the responsibilities and job description for the WIN Mobile App Database Coordinator position at Our Community LA?
Our Community LA (OCLA) is a Los Angeles county nonprofit that connects people who are homeless or struggling to free essential services thorough our free easy to use mobile app, WIN What I Need. We are looking for a Part-Time WIN app Coordinator (10-12 hours week) to assume responsibility for maintaining and updating the WIN What I Need mobile app's program database in English and Spanish. Coordinator will also be responsible for collecting, writing and sending community event announcements through WIN in English and Spanish. Coordinator will also occasionally support OCLA outreach efforts including social media, community tabling and/or presentations about WIN. Candidates must reside in Los Angeles county, be computer savvy and an accurate typist with a keen eye for detail. Understanding of data confidentiality principles is compulsory. OCLA and our WIN app users will rely on you for having accurate and updated data that are easily accessible through the WIN app.
Responsibilities
· Verify, Update and Maintain OCLA’s W.I.N. mobile app database in English and Spanish ensuring accuracy of information for public use.
· Search and identify free community events to input in app as an alert in English and Spanish
· Present WIN ( tabling/live presentations) to community partners and community members to promote effective WIN application usage for connection to free resources in English and Spanish throughout LA County
· Collaborate with OCLA staff, volunteers, and WIN Ambassadors on special projects, outreach, and meetings
Skills
* Must be comfortable translating from English to Spanish and be proficient with writing and speaking in English and Spanish
* Familiarity with data entry work – with proficiency with excel and word-based programs
* Comfortable with using and navigating social media to promote outreach events and the WIN app
* A dedication and a passion for supporting the community in connecting them to needed resources
* 1-2 years experience working or volunteering with unhoused individuals in a case management, direct outreach, or liaison capacity is a plus.
* Experience in direct community outreach is a plus as interfacing with local elected officials, other community organizations, law enforcement, and other first responders is part of the OCLA’s team engagement and coordination strategy is a plus
§* Established professional connections to local nonprofit agencies serving unhoused, resource insecure individuals is a plus
