Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate a variety of camp activities including arts and crafts, sports, theater, and outdoor adventures to ensure an engaging experience for all children.
- Manage classroom dynamics by implementing effective behavior management strategies and maintaining a positive atmosphere.
- Ensure the safety of all campers by adhering to safety protocols, conducting regular headcounts, and responding promptly to any emergencies with first aid when necessary.
- Support children with diverse needs by applying inclusive teaching methods and collaborating with special education staff when appropriate.
- Foster a nurturing environment that encourages teamwork, respect, and kindness among campers.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress, behavior, and any concerns that arise during the camp session.
- Assist in planning age-appropriate educational activities that promote childhood development and early childhood education principles.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp programs is highly preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills coupled with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in child development or special education are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with children of various ages and backgrounds while maintaining patience and enthusiasm.
- Knowledge of child safety protocols, behavior management techniques, and childhood development principles.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and engage positively with children’s families.
