Position Title: Associate Chief Medical Information Officer Department: Health Informatics Job Description: General Description: The Associate Chief Medical Informatics Officer (ACMIO) is a physician informatics leader of OU Health. Reporting to the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO), the ACMIO helps lead the configuration and optimization of clinical application systems including the electronic health record (EHR) in support of data-driven continuous improvement in clinical operations, quality and safety, and clinician and patient experience. Specific areas of focus for the ACMIO are clinical decision support and clinical system design. The ACMIO partners closely with organization leaders in IT, digital health, nursing, quality, population health, finance, and operations to achieve the organizational goals. Leads continuous improvement efforts for adoption and configuration of clinical information systems at OUH. Oversees the governance processes for EHR clinical decision support and clinical system design Advances interoperability capabilities within OU Health and amongst regional, state, and national partners Engages patient care providers to participate in EHR and information system improvement Works closely with Clinical Operations, Quality and Process Improvement teams to ensure that workflows and information system configurations are aligned Assists CMIO in oversight of enterprise Physician Builder program May directly supervise a team of multi-disciplinary clinical informaticists and EHR/IT application analysts Builds and fosters collaboration opportunities across the OU Health academic enterprise including the various colleges across the University of Oklahoma Builds and fosters collaboration opportunities with informatics and analytics teams and colleagues at other academic health systems Develops and maintains reputation as national and international though leader in clinical informatics Maintains a clinical practice in his/her native clinical specialty General Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Experience: Proven track record of clinical leadership in the enhancement and support of clinical information systems including the electronic health record. License(s)/Certification(s)/Regiration(s) Required: Board Eligible or Board Certified in Clinical Informatics Certification/Accreditation as an Epic Physician Builder within 6 months of hire Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Broad knowledge of information technology fundamental concepts including web, cloud services, mobile apps, wireless communication, software development, wearable devices, preferred. Ability to work independently, one-on-one, and as part of a diverse team to deliver high-quality and efficient results. Experience in leading optimization of health IT systems at a tertiary/quaternary care organization, preferred.
