Aggressively growing community bank expanding into crypto and digital asset services — is seeking a Director of Third-Party Risk to own and evolve their Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) Program.
Hybrid - Midtown - NYC
This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, with regular exposure to the Risk Management Committee and the Board. You'll sit at the center of the bank's Third-Party Risk Oversight Committee, shaping the framework that keeps the risk profile aligned with risk appetite as the institution scales into new, complex partnerships.
What you'll do:
🔹 Partner with the CRO to set strategic direction for risk and control assessment, including tooling and deployment
🔹 Lead engagement with risk owners to ensure third-party risks are properly identified and assessed
🔹 Design and implement a risk-based Third-Party control framework
🔹 Evaluate control design/execution and oversee implementation across risk owners
🔹 Drive timely completion of Third-Party controls by Business Activity Owners
🔹 Build and run control testing processes to validate accuracy and drive improvements
🔹 Monitor industry best practices and regulatory change to keep the program ahead of the curve
🔹 Serve as a key point of coordination with regulators
What you bring:
✅ 12 years of relevant experience, with deep expertise in third-party risk assessment and controls in financial services
✅ Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for Third-Party Management and oversight
✅ Hands-on experience with leading GRC platforms and TPRM workflows

✅ Excellent communication skills and the credibility to influence senior leaders and the Board
✅ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA, CFA, or FRM a plus)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Third Party Management and oversight
• Evidence of delivery of results with strong execution skills
• Ability to analyze processes and data to evaluate performance and identify improvement opportunities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively interact with and influence senior management
• Strong planning and organizing skills with the ability to manage and prioritize responsibilities through the effective use of time management and organizational techniques
• Experience with industry leading GRC platforms with TPRM implementations and workflows
Education, Training, and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA, FRM) preferred.
• Extensive Third Party risk management experience and have knowledge of industry frameworks and leading practices for Third Party risk assessment and controls.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience, with in depth knowledge of assessing third party risk and associated control requirements for a financial services organization.
