Ottumwa Radio Group is hiring a Part-Time Play-by-Play Announcer for Cardinal Football broadcasts
streamed live on the Ottumwa Radio YouTube Channel.
We’re looking for someone with energy, personality, quick thinking, and a true passion for high school
athletics and local communities.
Responsibilities
– Provide live play-by-play coverage of Cardinal Football games
– Deliver exciting, accurate, and engaging game calls
– Prepare game notes, player information, and statistics
– Arrive early for setup and broadcast preparation
– Work with producers, engineers, and sports staff
– Represent Ottumwa Radio Group professionally at events
– Help create a positive experience for listeners, viewers, athletes, and sponsors
Preferred Qualifications
– Strong speaking voice and communication skills
– Knowledge of football rules and terminology
– Ability to think quickly under pressure
– Dependable and punctual
– Broadcasting, announcing, podcasting, or public speaking experience preferred
– Passion for local sports is a must
Compensation
– $50 per game plus mileage reimbursement
