Store Clerk/ Barista

Job Overview

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and light food items with precision and care
• Process retail sales transactions accurately using POS systems such as Clover POS
• Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with integrity and accuracy
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in food preparation and serving areas
• Restock supplies, organize merchandise displays, and ensure the store environment is inviting and well-maintained
• Assist customers with product inquiries, recommend items, and promote ongoing specials or loyalty programs
• Accurately and effectively perform opening/closing duties.

Requirements

• Prior barista experience or café experience is highly preferred; strong coffee knowledge is a plus
• Familiarity with POS systems for retail sales transactions
• Experience in retail sales, cashiering, or food service roles demonstrating excellent customer service skills
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction accuracy
• Knowledge of food safety practices, food handling procedures, and food preparation standards
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly attitude that fosters positive customer interactions
