Overview
Otterbein at SpringMeade Health Center has an employment opportunity for a Housekeeper. The Housekeepers provide a clean, safe environment for residents, guests and employees. They enhance the lives and nurture the growth of older persons by providing high quality service in a cheerful, timely manner and by communicating, coordinating and cooperating with others to attain goals. Shift: Full-time 1st
Hours: 7a-5p (4 shifts a week) and every other weekend
Responsibilities:
- Performs routine and periodic cleaning duties including wet mopping assigned areas, vacuuming carpeted areas, dust surfaces daily, check all soap, toilet tissue and paper towel dispensers daily and fill as needed, shampoo and spot clean carpets as needed, perform daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules and other cleaning duties as assigned (i.e. changing beds).
- Adheres to sanitary and safety practices and standards
- Maintains good personal hygiene and adhere to dress code.
- Uses and stores equipment and supplies effectively, efficiently and safely per established guidelines.
- Uses authorized chemicals and agents as directed and be familiar with their individual MSDS information sheet.
- Cleans own equipment and cart at end of shift.
- Follows facility infection control and standard precautions policies and procedures.
- Uses personal protective equipment when necessary.
- Reports all equipment repair needs to Director in a timely manner.
- Communicates effectively and maintains confidentiality.
- Respects and maintains residents’ dignity, individuality, privacy and confidentiality.
- Promotes positive public relations for the facility.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
- Ability to use cleaning equipment and appropriate products.
- Ability to communicate effectively
