Our mission is simple: safe, efficient, uninterrupted production. As a Casting Plant Machinery Rebuild and Repair Technician, you will be the guardian of the equipment that makes it possible. Your craftsmanship, precision, and judgment will keep furnaces firing, molding lines indexing, and automated systems performing at their best.

Your Impact

In this role you will blend hands-on mechanical work with problem solving and collaboration. One day you might rebuild a hydraulic circuit on a press; another, you will machine a custom part to get a conveyor back on line. You will help plan and execute upgrades and installations that modernize our operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair foundry machinery including furnaces, molding lines, core-making machines, grinders, conveyors, presses, and automation.
• Carry out preventative and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and enhance reliability.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment to replace bearings, gears, shafts, hydraulic components, and other worn parts.
• Perform welding, machining, and fabrication to produce or modify parts required for repair.
• Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using proper test equipment and methods.
• Accurately record work performed, repairs completed, and parts usage in maintenance systems.
• Contribute to machine upgrades, equipment modifications, and new installations.
• Partner with production and maintenance teammates to schedule work and minimize operational impact.
• Uphold safety every step of the way, adhering to lockout tagout, OSHA standards, and foundry-specific procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance or machine repair preferred.
• 6 plus years of experience in machine repair or industrial maintenance within a foundry, steel mill, or heavy manufacturing environment, or completion of a recognized journeyman program.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and gear-driven equipment.
• Demonstrated skill in welding, machining, and fabrication.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Proven troubleshooting capability and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Able to lift more than 50 pounds and perform in hot, dusty, physically demanding foundry conditions.

Environment and Schedule

• Working in a foundry with molten metal, high heat, dust, noise, and heavy machinery.
• Required PPE includes steel-toe boots, face shield, respirator, gloves, and protective clothing.
• Willingness to work variable shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
