Otter Valley is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and collaborative L/T HS Math Teacher teacher to fill a vacancy beginning January through June 2026. The candidate should possess the ability to deliver differentiated instruction using varied and experiential methods to engage students.
Job Responsibilities
All Otter Valley teachers are expected to:
implement standards-aligned units of study and engaging lessons
use content-specific pedagogical techniques to engage learners
use assessment to inform instruction throughout the learning process
create positive classroom cultures focused on relationships, inclusive practices, and reciprocal trust
collaborate effectively with colleagues to improve teaching methods and ensure support is in place for all students.
Specific responsibilities for this position include:
Strong pedagogical content knowledge and awareness of Common Core Math Standards
An awareness and keen interest in student centered education
Values the importance of the student-teacher relationship as both the educator and advisor.
Advances the interactive classroom through creativity and trust.
Recognizes the importance of working with students and fellow educators in a community of civility and compassion.
Maintains strong communication skills. (Teacher to student, parent, administrator, and other professionals involved in a student’s educational goals.)
Working knowledge or a willingness to learn and apply the “Danielson” model for professional practice in education.
It is desirable that the successful candidate will be able to teach a variety of math courses from Algebra I to Calculus
Required Qualifications:
Must be eligible or possess Vermont State Professional License with appropriate endorsement to teach Grades 7-12 Math
